We believe that we are the most experienced forensic accountants in Scotland in confiscation proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (and the 1995 Act). See "Case Studies" for examples of our work.

Confiscation proceedings may follow conviction for drugs trafficking, but the Crown has used its powers under the 2002 Act to serve Statements of Information to those convicted of a range of other offences. The proceedings can run for several years following conviction. Most are settled before going to proof. The Crown requires the respondent has to prove the legitimacy of all assets obtained and money received over a period of up to six years. We aim to help resolve matters by preparing detailed calculations that set out the respondent's position, writing a report to best professional standards, and meeting with the Crown.
